Roles: organisation admin, clinician and team roles

2 min read · Updated 29 September 2026

Chronix Scribe has two account roles, and inside teams four team roles.

Account roles

  • Organisation admin: the owner of the practice's account. The person who creates the organisation is its first admin. Admins manage billing and seats (Settings → Billing), create teams and set each person's team role (Settings → Team), save practice templates everyone can use (Settings → Templates), and connect practice systems.
  • Clinician: records visits, reviews and signs their own notes, and uses their personal templates and settings. A clinician sees only their own notes, plus visits assigned to them.

Every note belongs to the clinician who recorded it, and only that clinician can sign it.

Team roles

An organisation admin groups clinicians into teams (Settings → Team) and sets each person's role in that team:

  • Lead: can assign visits to team members and add teaching notes or a countersignature to a team member's note.
  • Member: works in the team and can be assigned visits.
  • Supervisee: a trainee whose notes a lead oversees. The lead may countersign after the supervisee signs.
  • Read-only: can see the team but not change anything in it.

Trainees and supervision

To set up a trainee, make them Supervisee in a team with their supervisor as Lead. See "Supervision and countersigning".
