Connecting your practice system

2 min read · Updated 29 September 2026

Chronix Scribe can write a signed note into a practice management system, so you do not copy and paste it. Connections live in Settings → Integrations, under Practice systems.

What each system allows

Each practice system has its own card showing what it supports: Patient lookup, Note write-back and Sandbox, each Available or Not offered. A system with no public API shows No API; insert signed notes into it with the browser extension instead (see "Inserting a signed note into your EHR with the extension").

Who can connect

An organisation admin connects a practice system. Everyone else sees Ask your organisation admin to connect this.

Connect

  1. Open Settings → Integrations.
  2. On your practice system's card, enter the credentials it gives you, usually an API key from that system's own settings. Some systems use Sign in with … instead; if its partner access is not in place yet, the card says so.
  3. Choose Test and connect. The card shows Connected as <account> when it works.

Credentials are stored encrypted. Disconnect removes them.

Send a signed note

  1. On the connected card, use Find patient and choose the patient from the results.
  2. Under Send signed note, choose one of your signed notes.
  3. Read the confirmation (it names the patient in Chronix Scribe and the patient in your practice system) and choose Confirm send.

The note is written exactly as signed, with the AI disclosure and your signature block. Drafts are never sent. Some systems receive the note as a draft on their side for you to finalise there.

If a send fails

You see Could not send. Nothing was written. with the reason. Fix the cause (for example, reconnect if the key has changed) and try again.
